Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of focused attention and absorption.
You've probably experienced something similar before.
Maybe you've:
- Become completely absorbed in a movie or book
- Driven somewhere and barely noticed the route
- Lost track of time while listening to music
- Rehearsed an upcoming experience so vividly that you could almost feel yourself there
- Become so focused on something that everything around you temporarily faded into the background
These everyday experiences aren't necessarily hypnosis, but they can help illustrate what focused attention can feel like.
During a hypnosis experience, your attention is intentionally directed toward a particular goal or internal experience.
You remain aware, involved, and able to make your own choices throughout the process.
Hypnosis isn't about handing over control.
It's about becoming more intentional about where you place your attention and what you repeatedly practice internally.
WHAT CAN HYPNOSIS SUPPORT?
Hypnosis can be used as a personal-development tool for goals such as:
Confidence & Self-Concept
Sometimes becoming more confident isn't about learning another affirmation.
It's about practicing a different relationship with yourself.
Hypnosis can give you an opportunity to rehearse feeling more confident, capable, worthy, visible, and secure in yourself.
You can practice the experience of taking up space without shrinking, second-guessing, or waiting for permission.
Visibility & Being Seen
If you're stepping into a new level of visibility, whether personally, creatively, socially, or professionally, being seen can bring up old patterns of hesitation.
Hypnosis can support mental rehearsal around:
- Speaking with confidence
- Showing up authentically
- Allowing yourself to be visible
- Receiving attention without immediately pulling back
- Trusting yourself in the spotlight
- Becoming more comfortable taking up space
Identity & Future Self
Sometimes the life you're creating requires you to think, act, and see yourself differently than you have before.
Hypnosis can be used to visualize and rehearse the person you're becoming.
You might explore:
- How your future self carries herself
- How she responds to challenges
- What she believes about herself
- How she makes decisions
- What she allows
- What she no longer needs to prove
- How it feels to move through the world from that identity
The goal isn't to pretend you're already someone you're not.
It's to give yourself an opportunity to practice becoming.
Motivation & Momentum
Knowing what you want doesn't always make it easier to move toward it.
Hypnosis can support motivation by helping you mentally rehearse taking action, reconnecting with your reasons for change, and strengthening your sense of commitment to a goal.
Habits & Behavioral Patterns
Changing a habit often involves more than simply deciding to behave differently.
Hypnosis can be used to reinforce a desired response, mentally rehearse new choices, and create stronger associations with the behaviors you're intentionally practicing.
This can be especially useful when you're already working on a goal through coaching and want another tool for reinforcing the change.
Relaxation & Grounding
Hypnosis can also be a deeply immersive experience.
Guided attention, breathing, visualization, and suggestion can create space to slow down, settle your attention, and reconnect with a sense of calm.
You can also learn to use self-hypnosis as a repeatable practice outside of our sessions.
Personal Growth
You don't have to be trying to "fix" anything to explore hypnosis.
Sometimes you simply want to feel more connected to yourself.
More confident.
More intentional.
More comfortable being seen.
More willing to take the next step.
Hypnosis can be used to support the process of intentionally creating those experiences.
HYPNOSIS & YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS
The subconscious is often talked about as though it is a mysterious part of the mind controlling everything behind the scenes.
The reality is more nuanced.
Your automatic responses are influenced by things you've learned, practiced, associated, expected, and repeatedly experienced.
Hypnosis can provide a way to intentionally work with attention, imagery, suggestion, and mental rehearsal rather than relying entirely on conscious effort.
Instead of simply telling yourself:
"I want to feel confident."
you can spend time actually experiencing yourself as confident.
Instead of simply saying:
"I'm becoming someone new."
you can visualize, embody, and mentally rehearse what that version of you looks and feels like.
The goal isn't to bypass your conscious mind.
It's to give you another way to practice the internal experience you're choosing to cultivate.
HYPNOSIS IS NOT ABOUT LOSING CONTROL
One of the biggest misconceptions about hypnosis is that someone else takes control of your mind.
That's not what we're doing here.
You remain an active participant.
You can:
- Speak
- Move
- Open your eyes
- Stop the experience
- Reject a suggestion
- Ask questions
- Choose what you engage with
Hypnosis does not require you to surrender your judgment or personal boundaries.
You don't have to empty your mind.
You don't have to be perfectly relaxed.
And you don't have to be exceptionally "good at hypnosis."
People experience hypnosis differently. For some, it feels deeply immersive. For others, it feels more like focused concentration, visualization, or deep relaxation.
There is no right way to experience it.
WHICH HYPNOSIS OPTION IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Not every goal requires a full 1:1 experience.
Sometimes you want something focused that you can return to again and again.
Other times, you want an experience created around a specific goal with someone guiding you through it in real time.
That's why Trauma Alchemy offers both recorded hypnosis experiences and 1:1 hypnosis sessions.
CHOOSE A RECORDED HYPNOSIS EXPERIENCE IF...
You're looking for a focused, repeatable experience around goals such as:
- Confidence
- Self-worth
- Self-concept
- Relaxation
- Feeling grounded and calm
- Motivation
- Positive self-talk
- Visualization
- Future-self work
- Mental rehearsal
- Reinforcing an intention
- Preparing for a specific experience
- Personal growth
- Identity-focused change
Recorded hypnosis is especially useful when you want something you can incorporate into your own routine.
15-MINUTE RECORDINGS
Short, focused experiences designed to fit easily into your day.
These can be useful when you want a quick opportunity to reset your attention, practice a desired state, or reinforce a specific intention.
30-MINUTE RECORDINGS
A longer experience that gives you more time to settle in, become absorbed in the process, and explore the theme more deeply.
Both formats can be listened to repeatedly and incorporated into your personal self-hypnosis practice.
CONSIDER 1:1 HYPNOSIS IF...
You want a more individualized hypnosis experience built around a specific personal-development goal.
1:1 hypnosis may be a good fit if you want support with:
- Confidence or visibility
- Self-concept
- Identity transitions
- Future-self visualization
- Goal alignment
- Motivation
- Mental rehearsal
- Performance preparation
- Habit reinforcement
- Preparing for an upcoming experience
- Becoming more comfortable being seen
- Practicing a new way of responding
- Creating a more intentional relationship with yourself
With 1:1 hypnosis, we're not simply pressing play on a recording.
I'm there with you in real time.
The experience can be adapted to your goal, your imagery, your responses, and what feels most useful during the session.
You may be guided through visualization, suggestion, mental rehearsal, future-self work, resource-building, or other hypnotic techniques appropriate for the goal we're working toward.
The experience is collaborative.
You're not being "programmed."
You're actively participating in the process.
RECORDED VS. 1:1
Think of it this way:
RECORDED HYPNOSIS
"I want a focused experience I can return to and practice on my own."
Best for repeatable self-hypnosis, visualization, confidence, mindset, relaxation, motivation, and personal-development goals.
1:1 HYPNOSIS
"I want an interactive hypnosis experience tailored to a specific goal."
Best when you want someone guiding you through the experience in real time and adapting the session to what you're working toward.
If you're not sure which option fits your goal, you can reach out before purchasing.
HYPNOSIS + COACHING
Hypnosis can also be incorporated into a broader coaching experience.
Coaching and hypnosis serve different functions.
Coaching gives us space to consciously explore your goals, choices, beliefs, patterns, and next steps.
Hypnosis gives you an experiential way to practice and reinforce some of that work through focused attention, visualization, suggestion, and mental rehearsal.
Together, they can create a bridge between:
knowing what you want
and
practicing what it feels like to move toward it.
Hypnosis does not replace coaching, psychotherapy, medical care, or mental-health treatment.
It is simply another tool you can intentionally choose to support your personal growth.
A NOTE ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND CLINICAL HYPNOSIS
Because hypnosis can be used in both personal-development and clinical settings, it's important to understand the difference.
Trauma Alchemy hypnosis is non-therapeutic.
This work is focused on personal development, coaching goals, mindset, self-concept, visualization, intentional change, and experiential growth.
It is not psychotherapy and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or manage mental-health disorders.
Clinical hypnosis is different.
In a psychotherapy setting, clinical hypnosis may be incorporated into treatment for appropriately screened clients as part of an individualized clinical treatment plan.
That is a separate professional service offered through my therapy practice.
If your goal involves trauma treatment, significant mental-health symptoms, clinical anxiety or depression, processing traumatic memories, or another concern requiring psychotherapy, please seek an appropriate licensed mental-health provider rather than purchasing a Trauma Alchemy hypnosis service for that purpose.
If you are already a therapy client, hypnosis may be something you can discuss with your therapist as part of your treatment.
WHAT THIS WORK IS NOT
Trauma Alchemy hypnosis is not:
- Psychotherapy
- Clinical hypnotherapy
- Mental-health treatment
- Trauma processing
- A diagnostic service
- A replacement for medical or psychiatric care
- A method for recovering or verifying memories
- A promise that a particular behavior or outcome will change
- Mind control
- Stage hypnosis
Hypnosis also isn't a magic button that permanently changes you after one session.
Lasting change usually involves repetition, conscious choices, behavior, and continued practice.
Hypnosis can be one tool within that process.
READY TO WORK WITH YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS?
You don't have to become someone completely different.
You may simply be ready to stop rehearsing the version of yourself you've already outgrown.
Hypnosis can give you space to imagine something different, experience something different, and practice responding differently.
You survived. Now what life are you going to create?
Let's work with the part of you that's ready to create it.
